Local/Mainland Nova Scotia: $27/hour
Regional & Long-Haul: Mileage Pay

Lighthouse Transportation, an award-winning Top Fleet Employer, Employer of Choice, and Preferred Employer, is hiring an experienced Class 1 Driver for local and regional work throughout Atlantic Canada, with occasional long-haul trips to Newfoundland, Quebec and Ontario.

Your Earning Potential

Our drivers are paid based on the type of work they perform:

• $27/hour for local and mainland Nova Scotia work
• Mileage pay for regional and long-haul trips
• Additional pay for stops on mileage trips
• Additional pay for qualifying assignments, including layovers, ferries, tarping, oversized loads and B-trains
• Bonuses available throughout the year
• Vacation pay

Depending on your route mix, flexibility, availability and willingness to take regional and occasional long-haul assignments, total annual earnings can typically range from $60,000 to $85,000. Drivers who are more flexible and available for regional and long-haul work have greater opportunities to maximize their annual earnings.

What You'll Do

• Haul containers on local moves and regional routes
• Complete work throughout Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada
• Complete occasional long-haul trips to NL, QC and ON
• Operate a clean, dedicated truck
• Communicate regularly with dispatch
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain professional driving standards
• Complete required trip and delivery documentation accurately and on time

What You Need

• 2+ years of Class 1 driving experience in Canada
• Good driver's abstract
• Ability to start daily trips from our yard in Beechville, Nova Scotia
• Flexible availability to take advantage of additional earning opportunities
• Strong communication, time-management and teamwork skills
• Flatbed experience is an asset
